Program of 5 lessons :
Lesson 1 – Present subjunctive: regular and irregular forms
• Formation of the present subjunctive (most common regular and irregular verbs)
• Use after expressions of opinion (credo che, penso che…)
• Transformation drills: indicative → subjunctive
Lesson 2 – Present subjunctive: verbs and impersonal expressions
• Use after verbs of wish, doubt and feeling (spero che, ho paura che…)
• Impersonal expressions (è possibile che, è necessario che…)
• Oral practice with real-life situations
Lesson 3 – Past subjunctive (congiuntivo passato)
• Formation of the past subjunctive (auxiliary + past participle)
• Use to express opinions and feelings about past events
• Comparing present and past subjunctive
Lesson 4 – Subjunctive vs Indicative
• Meaning differences between subjunctive and indicative
• Conjunctions that require the subjunctive (benché, affinché, a meno che…)
• Guided writing activity
